While some features are geared towards end-users, others cater to developers looking to harness the latest tools and capabilities.

The first-party apps that make up the “Google System” include Adaptive Connectivity Services, Android System Intelligence, and several others. These apps can be found by searching for them in the “All apps” list within Settings, followed by opening their App info pages. The updates are not necessarily widely available, with some features taking months to fully roll out.

The latest Google Play services v26.13 (dated April 6, 2026) boasts several noteworthy changes. Under Account Management, when a user signs in to their Google account on Android Automotive devices via QR code, the sign-in confirmation now displays the requesting device’s name. For developers, new features have been introduced for Device Connectivity-related processes in their apps.

Device Connectivity also gets a boost, with refinements to Location Sharing APIs and the introduction of new location requests. On-Device Location History Store Visits has seen an increase in processing frequency, allowing for more accurate location tracking. System Management services across Android devices (Auto, PC, Phone, TV, and Wear) have been updated to improve Security and Stability.

In the realm of Wallet, bug fixes have been implemented to address related service issues. Google Play Store v50.9 (also dated April 6, 2026) has added download numbers to some app and game ads, providing users with more informed choices when making decisions about which apps to install. The update also enables users to join and compete in Play Games Leagues directly from the You tab.
